Never Rented a Jet Ski Before? Here’s Exactly What to Expect at Pleasant Water Sports

Everything You Need to Know Before You Show Up

Lake Pleasant on a jet ski is one of the best ways to spend a weekend in Arizona and getting out there from Scorpion Bay Marina is a lot simpler than most first-timers expect. No boat, no trailer, no experience required. Just show up, and Pleasant Water Sports handles the rest.

Here’s everything you and your crew need to know before your first ride.

Lock In Your Spot Before You Go

Weekends at Lake Pleasant fill up fast, and walk-ins only get whatever time slots are still available. The best way to guarantee the date and time you actually want is to book online or call us at (602) 714-7478 before you head out. The earlier you book, the sooner you stop thinking about it and start looking forward to it.

When you book, you’ll put down a deposit that goes directly toward your rental. No separate booking fees. If your plans change, you can move your reservation to a different date within the same calendar year as long as you give us at least 48 hours notice.

Rental Options and Pricing

We offer hourly, half-day, and full-day jet ski rentals — enough flexibility to fit a quick afternoon out or a full day on the water with friends. Check all available options and current pricing on our rentals page. A damage deposit is required on a card when you arrive and is released by your bank within a few business days after your rental.

Plan to Arrive Early

Give yourself a 30-minute buffer before your reservation time. There’s a per vehicle entry fee at the Lake Pleasant Regional Park gate, and on weekends the line to get in can take a few minutes. Getting there early means you’re checked in and on the water right when your time starts.

What to Bring

This is the easy part. All you need is a valid driver’s license and a credit or debit card. The person renting needs to be at least 18, and anyone who wants to drive the jet ski needs to be at least 16 with their own license. Passengers are welcome at any age as long as a waiver is signed by their parent or guardian. You can sign the waiver ahead of time here to save time when you arrive.

Beyond that, pack what you’d bring for any day at the lake: sunscreen, water, and clothes you don’t mind getting wet.

What to Expect When You Get There

You’ll check in right at the water’s edge at Scorpion Bay Marina, sign your rental agreement and waiver, and our team will walk you through everything before you head out. By the time you’re on the water, the only thing left to think about is where you want to go first.

Then You Ride

The open water, the desert scenery, the Arizona sun — Lake Pleasant hits differently from the back of a jet ski. Spring is one of the best times to come out: lighter crowds, wide open water, and the kind of afternoon that turns into a standing weekend plan.

First-timers almost always come back. Book your rental at pleasantwatersports.com or give us a call at (602) 714-7478. We’ll see you at Scorpion Bay.
